Emergency Services 2022
Westwood has been lucky to have the fire and police services visit us! We talked about the number to call in an emergency, what an emergency actually is and how to keep ourselves and others safe. We got to use the fire hose and sit inside the police van! It was really interesting learning about different jobs and the people who keep us safe!
Greens Windmill Trip
On 10.2.22 our Reception and Key stage 1 children went to Greens Windmill in Nottingham to learn all about the process of making flour and how a windmill works.
Lion Learners visit Westwood
On Friday 28th January the Nursery, Reception and Key Stage 1 children were visited by Kristen and her many animals. We looked at amphibians, reptiles, mammals, birds and minibeasts and found out lots of facts about them.
Monday 27th September 2021
As part of our History topic this half term, the Year 1 and Year 2 children visited Newstead Abbey. We spent the afternoon learning about what it was like to be a child in Victorian times. The children dressed up in Victorian clothes and went to school where they had to pay 2p to attend class! We also learned about the Webb family who lived in Newstead Abbey many years ago.
