Meet the Governors

Pauline Castledine - Chair of Governors

I am a parent governor and joined the Governing Body in March 2022. I have two grandchildren who are the fifth generation to enjoy this wonderful school.

I have lots of school experience with over 20 years working as a Teaching Assistant, followed by working independently as a childminder.

I feel that my experience and love of Westwood school will help to push the school forward to achieve and be the best they can be.

I do not have any financial or business interests in the school which I have to declare.

Lizzy Woodcock - Headteacher

As the Head Teacher I am a permanent member of the Governing Body and provide a link between the Governing Body and the school staff. At Westwood we are always looking at how we can enhance our provision to provide the very best education for every child.

I do not have any financial or business interests in the school which I have to declare.

Bethany Bower - Staff Governor

I am looking forward to joining the board of Governors as a new member this year. As a class teacher I am hoping to be able to put forwards thoughts of both staff and children within the school to make effect and lasting changes.

Katie Bonsall - Parent Governor

I am a parent governor and joined the board of Governors in September 2021. I have a daughter that attends Westwood school.

I have lots of previous managerial experience and a creative eye. I would like to continue to help with the school’s positive progress.

I do not have any financial or business interests within the school which I have to declare.

Following the reconstitution of the Governing body during 2015 all Governors requested that they be invited to both the Finance, General Purposes and Personnel committee meeting and the Strategic Development and Pupils committee meeting so that there should never be an issue over being quorate.

None of the above named Governors have any direct or indirect business interests to declare. They do not have any relationships or partners working within the school.

If you are interested in taking on a Governor position within our wonderful school please have a read of the Governor visits policy and guidance and speak to our chair of Governors or Miss Woodcock for further information.
