Teaching of Mathematics
Mathematics is an effective way of encouraging logical reasoning and critical thinking, skills that support our children throughout their lives.
Mathematics is an extremely important subject and takes place in school on a daily basis. Children learn through different methods, inside and outside of the classroom, and cover a broad range of Mathematical concepts such as problem solving, number knowledge, counting, reasoning, patterns and measurement.
As a school we follow White Rose Maths to ensure sequential learning and building upon skills and techniques learnt.
All classes have a Mathematics area that is well resourced with equipment to support learning, such as Numicon and number lines.
All children have access to Mathletics (an online Maths app) and the use of this is encouraged at home.
