PSHE

Our curriculum is broken down into 4 areas: Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds, Healthy Relationships and Global Citizens. All of these combine to support our mental health and interactions with other people in school and in the community.

Nursery focus on provision based learning where interactions happen everyday as we choose in our environment. Reception follow on from this with lots of provision based learning, as well as targeted carpet sessions. Year 1 and 2 take part in PSHE lessons and also have the opportunity to become playground buddies to support their friends.

Here at Westwood we place a huge emphasis on well-being and mental health. Every Wednesday is 'Well-Being Wednesday' where all classes undertake mindfulness activities, yoga and circle times.

In November we celebrated Anti-Bullying Week by wearing odd socks. We also took part in a wide range of activities and circle times to promote friendship and collaboration within our school.
